JJ Loughran Install and commission second IRD balancing machine

This is a dynamic, horizontal axis, soft bearing balancing machine, with a capacity of up to 230Kg. This precision balancing machine shows the continued commitment JJ Loughran have in developing our engineering workshop. It is suited for balancing small to medium weight rotors such as motor armatures, fans and turbines. This machine gives JJ Loughran maximum flexibility and helps us to increase the speed in which we can balance such equipment.

Our new balancing machine also interfaces with IRD’s 295 Computer. This employs IRD’s unique synchronous digital averaging tracking filter technology to provide an easy to use, top of the line balancing instrument, which standard features include:

  • Amplitude Range: 0.01 to 5,000 micrometers 0.001 to 199 mils p-p, auto ranging
  • Utilizes Windows®7 Embedded operating system Filtering:
  • Dual, narrow band shaft synchronous,

JJ Loughran being a registered BS OHSAS 18001 company have also taken an extensive look at safety of our personnel when balancing larger equipment such as large rotors, drums and fans. As a result of our internal audit we have also installed extensive machine guarding around both our balancing machines with personnel gates. We also utilised magnetic locks, so no operator may enter the balancing machine enclosure when the machine is running, the personnel gate will not open until the balancing machine has come to a complete stop. This ensures maximum safety when the equipment is in operation.
